Ana, in Spain we sadly have far the worst parties since democracy begun. I agree it's not about the women that got there, but the incompetent people we have in politics.

The thing is that I believe long ago there was a time where women were needed, just to be an example to other women and show that they could perform any role in our system. That is no longer the case, there are awesome women that perform extremely well in most (if not all) possible roles in politics. We no longer need women just for the fact that they are. We need good people, and for the sake of gender equality we need to stop differencing genders.

By the way, I'm man, I've never suffered from sex discrimination, but I can also tell you I've never in my life allowed a discrimination situation in front of me. It's not just women who want to get rid of those behaviors, and I like to consider me as an "involved part" as long as I can help.

This is your point of view Paco, if the primary line of the Government is bad, the ministries will be bad, and also in the Spanish government we have bad men-politicians, even worst that the women, and nobody says anything…. don’t you remember Bermejo and his hunting?
I always be impressed with men that think they are always in a good position to make that kind of comments, you are man, you have never suffer discrimination because being a woman, but you are in position to judge…I remark “judge”, because of course you can say whatever you want, but to judge….maybe you should wait to be an “involved part”…

In Spain we have had enough of women-ministers whose only merit is to be just it: women (probably with the exception of vice-prime minister Teresa Fernández de la Vega, a very capable and hard working lady, even if I totally disagree with her political line). We need honest and clever politicians, independently of their sex. If your start collecting signatures for a list of honorable and prepared candidates, women or men, I am more than ready to sign.

We need a gender balanced commission??? Well, I believe we need a commission with the most competent people, whether they are men or women... This initiative is really hurting women. The best way to achieve balance is by not making differences between genders, as you are doing by complaining about not having enough women. This is sad...

Any woman would like to achieve great success in her professional life, not for just being a women, but for being the best person in her role.

We need a gender balanced commission! Otherwise there is the risk that the European Parliament is not accepting Barrosos new commission. He should have learnt from the Buttiglione issue last time.
